Hi,

Unlike some other countries, airfields in Germany cannot legally be used when they are not officially "open", i. e. at least the advisory frequency ("INFO") is operated (with few exceptions). Many smaller airfields have limited operating hours, e. g. "MON-FRI PPR; SAT SUN HOL 0900-SS/1800, OT PPR" or something like that. Although they are part of the German AIP VFR (Part AD 2), and I am subscribed to that service in SkyDemon these parameters are not shown under "Plates" for each individual airfield.

The document is available as "List of Aerodromes" in the Document Browser, but the most basic information from that should be shown under "Admin Information" for each airfield on a planned route individually.

Even if DFS does not offer this data directly, the PDF documents of the AIP VFR are parseable and follow a pretty rigid format scheme, so it shouldn't be too hard to extract the information automatically.

Kind regards,
Bernd

Since this is information that is presumably only available to paying customers who have bought the VFR AIP, we couldn't just parse it out and include it for everyone in the Admin information. If you know differently, I am happy to listen.

I see, that's a fair point. So is there a way to put that in the Briefing Pack for DFS subscribers? It's really convenient information, and most of it is de facto available elsewhere, e. g. on the airfield's web site.

What is the source of the other Admin information, such as runway length and orientation and fuel availability?

Thanks for the reply,
Bernd

Much of the airfield information is licensed from DFS themselves. I will ask about the status of the opening hours information.
